Manila, the most retarded city!!
I don't know what it is about this city, and the millions of people that decide to call this cesspool home.
First off, let me start by saying that I've tried to give Filipinos the benefit of the doubt but I've reached a point where I just say "fuckit"....I ain't fronting no more.
They've got sense of importance that's beyond anything I've ever seen from their media, and their politicians to some of their quasi-intellectuals.
Basically the Philippines is a Third World country fronting as a First World country with nothing to to show for it apart from a swanky skyline in Makati and Ortigas while a large section of the population live in the shittiest conditions I've seen this side of Nyanga.
I love the fronting though for its sad irony.
The craziest thing about the Philippines is how everyone, I mean everyone wants to be white or appear to be white and its not the European white. They want the "pale" white which can only be achieved through a heavy regime of creams and pills. I see the results on the streets here everyday...so much so that one woman even claimed to be white when she was clearly not.
Filipinos need to start loving themselves beyond all the fakeness and delve into their histories beyond the colonial period.
A crazy night in Quezon City...party 2.
Myself and Seng left there after about 90 minutes. Just as we reached the gate of the subdivision we bumped into one of Seng's friends- Ruta. Quickly he invited us for a beer at one of the tin shack bars along Quezon Avenue. We were only supposed to have one round of drinks but soon that turned into two and soon we were on our way to the redlight district of Cubao where our friend promised us a crazy show.
The street scene was crazy though with streetwalkers and their pimps all over the place as some of them even tried to pull me to one side to offer some "boom, boom".
I was a bit sceptical, after what I had seen in Bourgos Street. I expected to see scantily clad girls "stripping" but covered in lace and their underwear. After Ruta refused to poa
Well. I was pleasantly suprised when we walked into one of the joints after we refused to get into another one because, seeing me, the doorman decided to waive the usual free entrance. So off we headed to another joint next door.
As we entered the dimply lit room a naked body was coverting on a stage with two poles on each side. She tried her best to do the stripper thing but the casual observer who has seen these shows in other countries would be able to see that she was a rank amateur. Altough it should be said she was the best "stripper" on the night....the other girls just danced without emotion and some seemed to be totally space out as if they didn't want to be there.
There were nice girls though but most of them were ho-ish, you couldn't possibly walk down the street with one.
We eventually headed out of there at around 1am not before I had spoken to one of the girls and taken her number pretending to be some Colombian businessman named Pablo- she obviously didn't get the joke.
A crazy night in Quezon City...part 1
Actually it started in the
Quiapo where myself, Seng and Luke spent Sunday afternoon walking through the massive street market which stretches over four blocks. We then headed over to the Quiapo church which, although it is massive, was packed to the brim...so much so that people stood outside and watched a mass on jumbotron in an adjacent square.
There we waited for another friend of Seng who would accompany us to Manila's Chinatown where we would have a dinner. It took an hour though before my three friends could reach consensus on the authenticity of the Chinese restaurants. We eventually settled on a restaurant but not before we had to tell the Filipino waiters that their cutlery was chipped- which I found utterly shocking.
We had a massive meal afterwhich I felt like swollen pig ready at the slaughterhouse with a butcher looking on with his glistening knife. We rolled out of there and headed back to Quezon Avenue where our friends share an apartment in a subdivision....the story didn't end there though.
